Crapping All Over Your Projects

December 14, 2017

I have a few projects going on, and I am having trouble finding time to work on them. However, as a writer, I am a creator, right? So technically I don't have any excuses as to why I can't seem to find the time to write. Okay, here we go. Write, create. Create the time to write period.

There is no such thing as not having the time to write. I am a creative type I don't have excuses. The real deal is either I want to do it, or I don't that's the bottom line. I'm just crapping on my projects with excuses otherwise.

What do I do?

  1. With so many advances in technology today there is no excuse not to be able to take your writing anywhere there is power. Smartphones, tablets, and laptops have come a long way, and these devices will even let you take them to the crapper. You can kill two birds with one stone this way. Don't have power? What happened to a pencil and piece of paper? No excuse.

  2. Keep your writing schedule short. Write for five to ten minutes at a time. You'd be surprised how much you can get done a little at a time.

  3. Don't over think your project. Write. Write. Write. This is what rewriting is for getting it right the second, third, and sixth times around if you know what I mean. Writing a story is hard enough don't make the writing process complicated by trying to get the story right the first time. If it makes you feel any better, this blog post is metamorphosing as we speak.🤪

All in all, I'm driving myself crazy thinking about how many changes I will make by the time I publish. Oh, and for the record, I am standing in the middle of the living room watching my wife and five little rug rats run rampant through the house while finishing the first draft of this post on my phone. No excuses. The only time you'll ever stop writing is when you run out of toilet paper.

Write. Create. Repeat.
